Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB), announced today that Blackbaud Merchant Services(TM) is now available to all customers, offering nonprofits a secure, affordable and integrated payment and donation processing solution.

"With over $300 billion donated to nonprofits annually, the nonprofit sector requires an easy and secure means to collect and process electronic payments across multiple fundraising activities," said Steve Klein, Blackbaud's head of payment services. "Blackbaud Merchant Services is a fully integrated PCI-compliant environment that helps mitigate risks associated with storing credit cards which is critical to protection of nonprofits' and their donor data."

Family Legacy Missions International needed a streamlined and secure approach to processing donations. With Blackbaud Merchant Services(TM), the organization was able to achieve a consolidated payment solution across all their donation processing requirements.

"It was easy to get up and running--we were securely processing credit cards within 24 hours," said Sommer Clayman, Family Legacy Missions International's director of finance and accounting. "Because we are working with one processer that integrates with our other solutions, The Financial Edge, The Raiser's Edge, and Blackbaud NetCommunity, we have been able to streamline our processes and meet our online giving goals."

The strategic mission of the Family Legacy Missions International is to pro-actively and permanently address the cyclical and multi-faceted problems of depression, poverty, and AIDS that plague the lives of the children of Zambia, Africa. The organization processes donations from all over the world and needed a way to centralize information and make it more accessible.

"We needed the ability to accept credit cards, no matter what the location," said Clayman. "The web-based platform enables us to pull reports and complete transactions wherever we are. Plus, the simplicity of the Blackbaud OneRate(TM) makes it helpful in understanding our costs and streamlining our reconciliation."

Blackbaud Merchant Services is a Blackbaud PCI-compliant comprehensive payment solution that safely processes all transactions using the Blackbaud Gateway(TM), which encrypts sensitive credit card information to ensure donor information is secure in the Blackbaud Vault(TM) and includes acceptance of all major credit and debit cards. In addition, Blackbaud Merchant Services supports all types of transactions, including one-time and recurring, real-time, batch, point-of-sale, "card present," and "card not present."
