CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 2006--
Will Use Comprehensive Community Foundation Offering to Administer
More Than 800 Active Funds and $65 Million in Annual Awards
Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB), the leading provider of software and related services designed specifically for nonprofit organizations, announced today that The San Francisco Foundation (TSFF) has begun implementing the company's integrated technology platform to manage its complex finances and to strengthen its diverse network of relationships.
The Foundation made this technology investment in March 2006, and it is being backed by Blackbaud's team of community foundation experts who are providing customized nonprofit intelligence and support.
"We selected Blackbaud as our technology partner because of the company's depth of expertise in working with organizations like ours," said Monica Pressley, the Foundation's chief financial officer. "The solution's robust CRM component coupled with the flexible accounting features will make it easy for us to access information from several data sources, to enhance our service, analyses, evaluation, and integration. We are looking to this conversion to transform our organization and leverage the technology to implement best practices."
Serving the Bay area and beyond for more than 60 years, TSFF is one of the 10 largest community foundations in the nation in grantmaking. The Foundation manages total assets of more than $850 million, which enabled it to award approximately 5,500 grants totaling $60 million in 2005 alone. TSFF helps to match donors' philanthropic interests with local community programs and initiatives. To do this efficiently, it needed a solution that could facilitate and strengthen these close relationships with donors and nonprofits. To that end, the Foundation selected Blackbaud's integrated financial and constituent relationship management solution to help provide superior customer service to both donors and nonprofits through personalized interactions and timely financial reporting.
"We are very pleased to partner with The San Francisco Foundation, an organization that is committed to providing its constituents with the highest standard in service and stewardship through the use of technology," said Marc Chardon, Blackbaud's chief executive officer. "Blackbaud's complete solution will help the Foundation maintain accountability and increase operational efficiency while continuing to deliver on its mission."
Addressing the needs of a community foundation
More than 70 community foundations rely on Blackbaud's integrated technology platform for financial and relationship management and to maintain the highest level of accountability.
The comprehensive solution will enable TSFF to track donors' philanthropic accounts, customize their online experience, and ultimately strengthen its relationships with constituents. The Foundation will expand its strong commitment to technology in the following key areas:

Raiser's Edge(R) will help streamline daily processes and
